Venerdì 7 ottobre riapriamo i battenti pronti, come tutti gli anni, a farvi sentire la musica più fresca ed innovativa in circolazione, e a portarvi quello che gli altri non vi portano. La musica cambia ma la passione che ci anima è sempre la stessa e a noi serve tutto il vostro supporto, vista anche la nascita dell’ etichetta, Deepsession rec., giunta in questi giorni alla sua terza uscita. Ad aprire le porte della nostra stagione 2011/2012 ci sarà da Parigi, French Fries, inutile dirvi che il ragazzo sta scrivendo pagine importanti della musica elettronica, e chiamarlo qui a farci sentire cosa combina era un dovere. Anche il locale sarà nuovo, per il primo venerdì abbiamo scelto di provare il Pure club nel cuore dell’Eur che fin dall’inizio ci ha colpito per la sua struttura raccolta ed il suo calore. L’arrivo di New Era a Roma viene celebrato nel migliore dei modi con una serata ad hoc in una delle sale più underground ed esclusive del panorama italiano: la mitica Dark Room dell’Open Gate. Il fascino di avere 2764 anni e non sentirli. Roma, la città Eterna, festeggia il 21 Aprile il suo
compleanno ufficiale, il cosiddetto “Natale di Roma”. E CTRL lose control dedicherà il proprio
evento mensile alla città che più di ogni altra può vantare un patrimonio inestimabile per la sua
storia, cultura, arte e architettura. Il Circolo Arci Mads di San Lorenzo sarà per una volta il fulcro
dei festeggiamenti in cui vecchie tradizioni, personaggi, costumi, abitudini e leggende di un luogo
così affascinante e unico si fonderanno con la musica e le atmosfere di uno dei party più esplosivi
della Capitale. Meo Patacca, Romolo e Remo, Nerone, il Marchese del Grillo, Mastro Titta,
Rugantino, Trilussa. E ancora: gladiatori, centurioni, filosofi, attori, musicanti, imperatori,
provenienti da epoche diverse e contesti storici diversi, si ritroveranno insieme in una grande festa
che renderà onore alla Capitale.

Anche questa volta il Mads si trasformerà e ospiterà due sale e ben 5 djs, una crew composta da
alcuni dei più apprezzati dj indipendenti della scena romana, veri protagonisti delle club night del
venerdì e sabato sera dei locali più frequentati di Roma. Dalle 23 dj Skalibur, Supermarket, Dj
Yakuza e dj ddp e i loro ospiti (Stalkers, Diskwashers) faranno scatenare la consueta folla di
gente fino alle 4 del mattino al ritmo di indierock, nu wave ed electro. I visual sono affidati alle

Brandon Welchez e Charles Rowell sono due noismakers di San Diego, la cui importanza è cruciale nel mucchio di suoni urticanti del nuovo lo-fi californiano. Il loro garage pop ipnotico dell’esordio adesso è più pulito e levigato. Nel loro ultimo lavoro, “Sleep Forever” le chitarre sono più brillanti e la batteria non è più il semplice prodotto di un synth analogico ma il frutto della collaborazione di James Ford dei Simian Mobile Disco. I due, come sempre, non ci provano nemmeno a smentire il paragone con mostri sacri del calibro dei “The Jesus & Mary Chain” o dei “Telescope”, melodie malate che un quarto di secolo fa in Gran Bretagna finivano per lambire le classifiche. Un sound kraut-rock, dub, punk, rumoroso e psichedelico, che trasmette la gioia di suonare a chi ascolta.

Nel weekend del trapasso, della resurrezione, della rinascita o della liberazione venerdì 22 Aprile il Lanificio159 si trasforma in SUPEDISCOTECA. Le crew di Loose Habit e Beat Up presentano L:B:S:, il progetto scaturito dalle menti di Pete Herbert e Baby G, due maestri presenti sulla scena della produzione da molto tempo. Se L:B:S: è un pò come dire la Soulwax dedicata alla Disco Il loro SUPERDISCOTECA è un po’ come il progetto 2 Many DJs ma molto più focalizzato sugli anni 70/80. Un volo abbracciati ad un arcobaleno a cassa dritta e un atterraggio perfetto su un soffice letto di nuvole d’ amore. Finisce il buio freddo dell’inverno e si risveglia la natura. Danzano, nell’ esplosione di profumi in technicolor dell’ Aprile romano, le storie di ragazzi con il beat e il funk nel sangue. . Dopo un party iniziale di grandissimo successo, che ha visto la partecipazione di piu’ di 1200 persone, l’entusiasmo delle tre crew organizzatrici converge in una produzione unica sotto il nome dell’ organizzazione PETSOUND. L’Akab, locale storico dove si sono svolti alcuni fra i più bei party della storia della cultura underground romana, darà ai ragazzi lo spazio necessario per esprimere il loro punto di vista sulla musica indie. Nella main room (“garden”), ci sarnno gli hot SURFDISCO DJS a fare da apripista al duo italiano di cui tanto si parla per la loro recente uscita sull’etichetta di Fatboy Slim, la Southern Fried. KEITH & SUPABEATZ sono una delle coppie di dj-producer italiane più acclamate e spinnate al mondo. Un rapporto tra età giovane e professionalità che pochi altri hanno. Prendete tutta la storia della musica dance degli ultimi trent’ anni e buttatela a lavare nella washing machine del loro cervello. Il risultato sarà un presentabile sound pulito con un fresco profumo di baltimore house. CTRL lose control e Lanificio 159 presentano The Japanese Popstars live per la prima volta in Italia in occasione del nuovo evento CTRL Xtended “Carnival Party”.

Ospiti del primo appuntamento saranno i Japanese Popstars, trio electro proveniente dall’Irlanda del Nord, al debutto assoluto in Italia, reduci da straordinarie apparizioni nei festival più importanti d’Europa e da un album d’esordio (‘We Just Are’) accolto con entusiasmo dalla critica internazionale e, ancor prima dell’uscita ufficiale, dal pubblico del web.

Anche se il nome può trarre in inganno, la band ospite non ha nulla ha che fare con il Giappone. Ecco perché CTRL ha deciso di onorare la festa del carnevale, con spirito un po’ goliardico, prendendo spunto proprio dalle tradizioni e dalla cultura del Sol Levante. Quindi: gheishe, samurai, spade, kimono, gonnellina da giappo-studentessa, lottatori di sumo e tutto ciò che proviene dal lontano Oriente è fortemente gradito. La spiritualità del Giappone e del suo popolo, le tradizioni e i costumi, si andranno a scontrare e mescolare con l’esplosività devastante dei Japanese Popstars. Visuals, coreografie e chi più ne ha più ne metta. Il Giappone la farà da padrona.

Ad aprire e chiudere l’esibizione del trio di Belfast ci penseranno i djs di CTRL: dj Skalibur, Supermarket, Dj Yakuza e dj Ddp faranno scatenare il pubblico tutta la notte al ritmo di indierock, nu wave ed electro. La band arriva dall’Irlanda del Nord (quindi tutti i porno-feticisti che si aspettavano delle belle ragazzine giapponesi in gonnellina possono anche smettere subito di leggere), ed è formata da Declan McLaughlin (a.k.a. Decky Hedrock), Gary Curran e Gareth Donoghue. I tre dj hanno fondato la band dopo numerose discussioni tra loro da ubriachi – così recita la loro biografia – dando via ad una fruttuosa collaborazione, ciascuno col proprio pseudonimo. Il successo ottenuto con il primo album “We Just Are” ha aperto loro le porte a numerosi festival di livello internazionale: Reading, Leeds, Bestival, Rockness, Creamfields. Non solo. Ha permesso loro anche di conseguire ambiti riconoscimenti: una nomination come “Best House Djs” all’edizione 2006 degli “World Urban Music Awards” e come “Best Live Performance” ai “Northern Ireland Dance Music Awards” del 2007. Hanno poi vinto come “Best Live Act” agli “Irish Music Awards” del 2008 e sono stati anche votati come “Best Breakthrough Producers” per il “Dj Mag Best British Awards 2008”.

Attualmente sono sotto contratto con un’etichetta che sembra fatta su misura per loro, la Gung-Ho per quanto riguarda il Regno Unito (che ha anche Gus Gus e Zoo Brasil), mentre per il Giappone sono accasati con la Beatink (della cui scuderia fanno parte Underworld, Aphex Twin e Cinematic Orchestra).

Non amano essere definiti “indie-rave” ed essere etichettati in sotto-generi musicali. I Japanese Popstars producono musica elettronica che si adatta perfettamente ai grandi spazi dei festival e degli stadi. L’esplositivà dei suoni ne caratterizza le esibizioni live: suoni violenti, suoni carichi di un’energia incredibile, ad ogni battuta, ad ogni accordo, ad ogni ogni staffilata del sintetizzatore. Questa notte è sicuramente uno degli eventi più interessanti per chi segue la scena elettronica romana con attenzione. I due colossi della capitale si incontrano e si scontrano per la prima volta in un match che lascerà tutti con il fiato, direi, caldo e alcoolico. Dopo di Ken, senza fare nessun riferimento a chi dei due sia Caio e chi Ken, Cyberfunk, Deepsession masters, e Lazy Ants, adesso in uscita su Sothern Fried con due pre release in vista del lavoro per la Mixmash di Laidback Luke. Mark Ronson nasce il 4 settembre 1975 nel Southport, in Inghilterra; si trasferisce a New York con la famiglia all’età di otto anni. Incomincia la sua attività di dj nella scena dei club newyorkesi attorno al 1993; influenzato dal funky, dall’hip-hop e dalle atmosfere rock inglesi, attrae un pubblico sempre più crescente, oltre che diventare un personaggio sempre più richiesto per suonare alla feste private dei vip. Comincia a produrre musica dopo che il manager di Nikka Costa sente uno dei suoi pezzi e gli presenta la cantante; Ronson produce infatti la sua canzone “Everybody got their something” e subito dopo firma il contratto con la Elektra Records. Il suo primo album HERE COMES THE FUZZ – realizzato nel 2003 – viene accolto molto bene dalla critica, che lo acclama come uno dei migliori artisti del genere, nonostante le basse vendite. Nel frattempo continua a produrre diversi brani per altri cantanti come Christina Aguilera, Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen e Robbie Williams. Nel 2004 fonda la sua etichetta, la Allido Records. Come produttore realizza – nell’aprile del 2007 – una cover degli Smith “Stop me if you think you’ve heard this one before” sotto il titolo “Stop me” con Daniel Merriweather alla voce: il brano raggiunge il singolo posto delle classifiche inglesi; poi remixa la canzone di Bob Dylan “Most likely you’ ll go your way (and I’ll go mine)” in occasione della promozione del triplo disco dello stesso autore intitolato semplicemente DYLAN, uscito nell’ottobre 2007. Alla fine dello stesso anno riceve una nomination ai Grammy come produttore dell’anno, oltre ad avere una personale soddisfazione per il successo di BACK TO BLACK – l’album di Amy Winehouse prodotto tra gli altri proprio dallo stesso Ronson – che fa incetta di premi. A inizio 2008 riceve tre nominations ai Brit Awards, inclusa “Canzone dell’Anno” – “Valerie” – cantata dalla stessa Winehouse. Il brano gli permette di raggiungere la vetta della classifica internazionale Dutch Top 40, rimanendo per quattro settimane consecutive in cima. Questa sera i Cyberfunk suonano a Jump Around serata meglio conosciuta per essere il venerdì sera più infuocato dell’ Arteria, noto locale del capoluogo romagnolo. Gente che ha il concetto di sala da ballo radicato profondamente come forse pochi altri popoli italiani in questo paese e che ogni giorno come noi mantiene il ferro caldo a suon di martellate sonore e comunicative. Ho potuto personalmente constatare venerdì scorso a Deepsession che i Cyberfunk sono in grande forma e che il loro set è la solita serie di bombe a mano. Attenti!

L’<<intellidance>> è una buona sintesi per provare a spiegare la loro musica: un percorso che parte dall’house  segue il filone funk, metabolizza il rap, scandaglia la disco di vent’anni fa. Inutile chiedersi il significato del nome.
I due hanno cominciato a fare musica insieme nel 2001. Nel gennaio dell’anno seguente bussavano all’etichetta friulana Riotmaker con un demo,   è piaciuto. E allora giu a darsi da fare nella musica,  Scuola Furano è una rivisitazione dei grandi classici con rap old school e post-disco. L’ultimo EP pubblicato da poco con la Valigetta è già storia . Se il concetto sfugge ancora, non resta che ascoltarli.

Feadz is a child of hip-hop. He started with scratch in the begining of the 90’s, and soon
drew Paris’ undeground music scene attention with his various mixtapes and collaborations,
either rap or electronic.
Then he met Mr Oizo and he worked on the production of his first LP, «Analog Worms Attack»,
released on F-Communication in 1999. They tour the world to promote it.
In 2001 he release his first solo EP «High-B» on Ellen Allien Bpitch Control, followed by
three more EPs during the next four years.
One day, he gave Pedro Winter a track he made his girlfriend sing on, a savant mixture of
old school influences giving birth to the future’s music. The Uffie project was born. He left
B-Pitch Control and he started to produce tracks for Uffie with his friend Mr Oizo. They
released «Hot Chick / In Charge» in 2006, an amazing UFO both in electronic music and in
hip hop landscapes. Uffie stroke again with the club hits «Pop The Glock / Ready To Uff»
and «F1rst Love / Brand New Car», and she sang and rap her overexited club kid frenzies
all around the world for more than three years.
Between the Uffie adventure and his many remixes for artists such as Boys Noize, Krazy
Baldhead, Justice, and Modeselektor, Feadz found de time to release «Happy Meal EP» in
2008, a unique sound between Kraftwerk and the Bombsquad, followed by his track «Back
It Up» featuring Spank Rock appearing on the «Ed Rec Vol.3» compilation.
Feadz is currently finishing his production work on Uffie’s debut album, and he’s about to release his second EP on Ed Banger Records, «P*N*M*B» : five exclusive tracks mixing in
a perfect alchemy the futuristic electro of «Constant Ovulation» with the freshness of «The
Bright Side» and the techno touches of «Age 21» and «Liisborg Error», finishing with the
groovy cut beat of «Flashin’ Outro». Out on July the 6th 2009.

MINI K BROS:

Agli albori del 2000, non avendo superato lo shock del Millennium Bug, Mini e Mastro si chiudono in un sottoscala della futuristica Fidene Rock City, con l’intento di non uscirne mai più. Durante il lungo isolamento, compongono quattrocento canzoni in Sol, quattrocento in Mi ed un certo numero in Do. Una sola in Re minore.
Dopo qualche anno, finita la scorta di sigarette, i nostri si trovano costretti a tornare allo scoperto e, con grande stupore, scoprono di aver vinto un primo premio (Diesel Urban Music 2003). Scoprono inoltre l’esistenza di luoghi in cui i gruppi suonano e la gente può andarli a sentire, dal nome: locali.

Per non complicarsi la vita, ne scelgono uno soltanto: il Locale, dove si esibiscono fino a tre volte alla settimana. Purtroppo si sa, la fortuna gira, e questo incredibile e misterioso luogo, chiude. L’evento infausto li conduce ad una nuova crisi: Mini e Mastro tornano nel sottoscala e compongo altre seicento canzoni, tutte in La minore. Ma stavolta l’empasse non dura molto e il ricordo delle belle serate trascorse a suonare, li convince ad uscire definitivamente per far ascoltare al pubblico ancora qualcuna delle loro numerosissime composizioni.
Nel 2008 esce l’album “Ultimo” dove con tracce come “il traffico di Roma” e oggi non lavoro e i numerosissimi live al Contestaccio, ormai la loro seconda casa, conquistano il pubblico Romano che ad ogni loro live risponde sempre alla grande.

Erano anni che aspettavamo una data come questa!!!  Finalmente per la prima volta in Italia DEEPSESSION è lieta di presentare Symbolone! I ragazzi vengono uno dalla Croazia e l’altro dall’Irlanda e trascineranno il pubblico di Deepsession in un viaggio intergalattico nei meandri della disco siderale… i loro dischi sono nelle playlist dei dj di mezza europa (Justice e Alan Braxe per citarne alcuni) , ma se ancora non vi abbiamo convinto vi possiamo solo dire di fidarvi di noi e di venire a vedere che razza di serata vi stiamo proponendo.

Torna Deepsession per l’apertura di stagione al Brancaleone con una line up tutta “americana”.  Direttamente da Milano/Lecce, passando per gli states dove ormai è una vera star: CONGOROCK! dopo la strepitosa prova dello scorso anno insieme ad A-trak, torna a Deepsession con tutto il bagaglio di esperienze accumulate nel corso dell’anno (festival in mezzo mondo , disco sull’etichetta di A-trak e molto altro). Rocco Rampino è un ragazzo semplice e genuino come i tarallucci fatti in casa, che per riuscire a fare musica ha abbandonato il suo caldo salento per la fredda Milano. Oggi tutti lo conoscono come Congorock. Quello che ha conquistato l’etichetta newyorkese del 3 volte campione del mondo di scratch A-Trak ,di Nick Catchdubs e dei Chromeo: la Fool’s Gold.
Quello che ha girato l’America in tour con i MSTRKRFT. Ma soprattutto quello che con i suoi bassi riuscirebbe a far muovere le gambe ad una sedia.Congorock è un dj/producer di questa electro fidget che tanto fa parlare dell’Italia nel mondo, ma a differenza della maggior parte dei produttori di oggi il suo show non è una prevedibile playlist delle produzini proprie e degli amici in top su myspace, ma una roba fatta a regola d’arte, piena di sorprese e in perfetta sintonia con il pubblico. Direttamente da Chicago i ragazzi sono tra i fondatori della Brick Bandits un collettivo della windy city che sta dando filo da torncere alle migliori crew americane. Era da un po di tempo che Chicago non sfornava dei talenti simili, i ragazzi non sono i soliti scalmanati della scena electro nu-rave che arrivano sul palco e spaccano tutto a suon di bassoni… qua parliamo di professionisti! gente seria cresciuta a pane e house-techno old school che mischia il meglio della musica attualmente in circolazione con classici anni 80 e 90. A scoprirli è stato Diplo e all’attivo hanno un cd mixato per Ear Candy , un disco sulla berlinese Nightshifter e diversi remix per Supersoul Recordings,Idiot House,T&A RECORDS e Mad decent.Insomma a breve siamo sicuri che sentirete molto parlare di loro non ve li perdete non vi deluderanno!
